Anatomy students travel to Gannon
On Monday, Nov. 21, Mr. Greco’s Anatomy students traveled to the Gannon University Patient Simulation Lab. The classes had to be split into two groups because of the large number of students taking the course, with the first group making the trip on Oct. 27. At Gannon, they observed an Intravenous Therapy (IV) procedure and multiple activities that involved listening to different forms of respiration. The purpose of the trip was to explore the multiple career options available in the medical field, and improve communication skills which, according to Greco, are extremely important for potential candidates going into these fields. Students who participated returned with a wealth of knowledge and valuable skills. Senior Caleb Ohmer said, “The trip was very informative and a lot of fun, but the best part was definitely the awesome food!” Greco’s students will continue to follow up on the skills and information gathered on the trip in his class. At the end of the day, Greco reflected, “It was an excellent chance for students to explore medical careers and get a chance to work with current medical technology.”
