“I feel the team members will perform to the fullest extent of their abilities. Mrs. Anderton and I have been watching the film; we have a couple of plays that we think will make an impact,” said Camden Barclay, senior and president of the Hi-Q team. The Hi-Q team competes in academic challenges around the region. Last year, the team’s performance was “mediocre” according to Mackenzie Price a junior on the team. Price said, “A lot of it was caused by inexperience, but overall the team has a lot of talent.” Despite losing its captain with the graduation of, Matt Stearns, the team is still strong. Each player brings his or her own special areas of expertise. For example, Derek Smith, senior, specializes in literature while Dan Kozubal, junior, and Camden Barclay specialize in history to name a few. The team practices once a week on either Wednesday or Thursday and all members of the student body are welcome to attend.
