Thanks to the writing skills of seventh grade science teacher Mrs. Gwendolyn DeVoge, Saegertown High School now has two new microscopes. The Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh(SACP) Elementary/Middle School Science Equipment Grants program recently awarded the equipment to DeVoge based on her grant application that detailed how she would use the equipment for better learning. “It was a pretty easy form,” said Mrs. DeVoge about the grant application. She plans to use the new microscopes for class projects by having students view the slides through her television hook-up. DeVoge shared that the new microcopes have greater focus than the ones she currently has.
