Once again the Saegertown Cross Country team does not disappoint. Three members of the squad had stellar performances at Districts on Oct. 30, and will be advancing to the state meet in Hershey, on Nov. 6. Junior Nate T. continued his winning streak, capturing his second consecutive District 10 AA boys title with a time of 16:11. Sophomore Hunter J., despite battling an injury for the majority of the season, claimed 12th place to advance to states. The lone lady panther to qualify, Danielle S., finished in 14th place. Coach Bill Hetrick said of Danielle, “She had a very average race. I expect her to beat most of those girls at States.” All qualifying runners will hope to medal at states, finishing in the top 25. Although other runners did not qualify, Coach Hetrick said, “A lot of our runners actually had their pr (personal record).” He seems to be pleased with the performance of all the runners. There will be a send-off for the state qualifiers Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Saegertown High School Auditorium.
