Spanish club students made their way to Cambridge Springs High School on Nov. 11, to see the Hispanic Flamenco Ballet. The two shows included songs featuring instruments such as drums, guitars, and a violin. Also, there were several types of dances performed, that were from different countries. Dancers performed the Tango, Malambo, Merengue, Samba, Salsa, and many others. The performers wore costumes that were native to the area where the dance originated. During the show, the audience interacted with the singers and dancers, with teachers and students dancing on stage with the cast at the end of every show. Spanish two student Arianna H. said, “Going on stage and dancing with an Argentian was awesome. ” The energy in the room had everyone wondering what would happen next. Spanish club adviser Mrs. Brawn said, “I loved it all, but the songs we got to participate in were the best part.” The strobe lights, fog machine, background pictures and costumes made the show unforgettable. After the show, the club was privileged to meet the entire cast, and the trip ended with an authentic Mexican dining experience at Compadres.
