A New Handel on The Panther Press
With past experience in hand, the new Editor in Chief of the Saegertown Panther Press, senior Casey Handel said, “I know how to get things done.” When asked how he felt about his new position, Handel carried himself with ease, feeling fairly confident he is the right person for the job. “I know what’s expected,” he said.
Handel is looking forward to this upcoming year saying he’s going to give everyone a shot, but is also not going to take any slack. His pursuit of the editor in chief title dates back to last year when he joined the Panther Press crew. His favorite part about journalism is being able to see people express themselves through writing and viewing all different types of writing styles.
Handel hopes to spread his love for the Panther Press to all the staff members, carrying himself as a leader and opening himself up to all suggestions made. When asked if he had any interest in pursuing journalism as a future career, Handel denied any interest, but mentioned that he might enjoy working for a college paper in the future. As The Panther Press launches into Volume V, Handel said that he wants to carry on the tradition of it being a top-of-the-line newspaper. “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it, ” he said.
